What is OneroTM?
Onero is an award winning evidence-based exercise program developed by Dr. Belinda Beck to help improve bone architecture, density, and resilience in older women and men with low bone mass. Under supervision of an OneroTM certified practitioner, patients learn high-impact and high-intensity exercises to counteract the natural progression of bone mass loss as we age.
How is ONEROTM different?
Traditional forms of treatment and prevention of Osteoporosis and Osteopenia may emphasize lifestyle changes, hormone replacement therapy, and light exercise. They tend to avoid heavy weight-bearing for those with fragile bones to decrease the risk of fractures. However, through her research and study, Dr. Beck found that the only way to make significant changes in bone mass and stimulate bone growth was to load it with weight.
The OneroTM program combines high intensity resistance and impact training while taking into consideration each patient's history and pre-existing conditions to safely build bone mass and reduce the risk of falls and osteoporotic fractures. Together with your OneroTM certified clinician, you will practice exercises that are carefully selected for you to not only build bone mass, but also improve balance and strength.
